Kaltura - How to Access the Video Caption Editor
On March 25, 2018, automated captions, powered by Cielo24, were enabled in Rutgers MediaSpace, powered by Kaltura. When a video is uploaded to MediaSpace via the standalone website or through Rutgers Canvas, Moodle, or Sakai captions are generated using automatic speech recognition. This service provides 70-95% accuracy. Video owners will need to review and edit their captions for accuracy.
If you are an instructor in a course that uses Moodle, Canvas, or Sakai you may wish to notify your students to report any errors to you. Include a note in your syllabus that all captions are machine-generated and to contact the instructor regarding inaccuracies.
